There are  number of great places and businesses in Oakland.  Here are a few that we think are pretty cool and we are proud to celebrate.

1. -Woodminster Amphitheater - http://www.woodminster.com/ - An outdoor theater located in the Oakland hills where you can see great summer performances.

3. -The Fox Theater - http://thefoxoakland.com/ - A recently reopened piece of Oakland’s history. A live music venue, arts school, and restaurant.
   

4. -Lake Merrit - http://www.oaklandnet.com/parks/parks/lakemerritt.asp - A focal point of oakland.  A great place to jog or walk with other options as well.
   

5. -Jack London Square - http://www.jacklondonsquare.com/ - Oakland’s waterfront home to dining, events and outdoor activities.

PLACES TO EAT

1. -Genova Delicatessen - 5095 Telegraph Avenue - A delicious delicatessen.  If you like sandwiches, you will love Genoa.
   

2. -LCX / Le Cheval - http://www.lecheval.com/ - A favorite, serving Vietnamese food in Oakland and is always packed.
   

3. -The Smokehouse - 3115 Telegraph Ave - A great walk up window burger joint, open when you need it.
   

4. -Barney’s - http://www.barneyshamburgers.com/ - An awesome fancy burger joint with just about any choice of burger you can possibly think of.
   

5. -Zachary’s - http://www.zacharys.com/ - Chicago style deep dish pizza that is comparable with actual Chicago pizza.  Zachary’s is a bay area favorite and is always packed with a wait.
   

6. -Italian Colors - http://www.italiancolorsrestaurant.com - A great place to eat that has a fun atmosphere and tasty dishes.
   

7. -Everett and Jones BBQ - http://www.eandjbbq.com - If you like BBQ, you will love Everett and Jones.  A local favorite and portions are plentiful.
   

- Fenton’s Creamery - http://www.fentonscreamery.com/ - An old time ice creamery with great food and smiles all around.

1. -Bay Wolf - http://www.baywolf.com/ - Rated one of the 10 best restaurants in the Bay Area.  Fancy and good!
   

2. -Doña Tomás - http://donatomas.com/ - Thought of by some as Oakland’s premier Mexican eatery

4. -Mama’s Royal Cafe - http://www.mamasroyalcafeoakland.com/ - Serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch.  Been around since 1974 and still serving great food.
   

5. -Shan Dong - http://sd.222.to/ - A great chinese food restaurant in china town.  Lots of locals love it.  If their website doesn’t work, check them out on yelp.
   

6. -True Burger - http://www.trueburgeroakland.com/ - Chef's used to work at Bay Wolf.  I just went there the other night for a burger fries and a shake. All were fabulous and I can’t wait to go again!
   

7. -Ozumo - http://www.ozumo.com/oakland/ - Contemporary Japanese Cuisine, been open for about 2 years now and is an expansion restaurant form the Ozumo inn SF.  But the food here and the ambiance is awesome.... Great robati bar......
   

8. -Oakland Chop Bar - http://www.oaklandchopbar.com/ - Chop Bar has great food in the Jack London Square area.... try the bhan mi sandwich...... YUM!
